General description

IgG antibodies are the smallest antibody isotype found in blood and extracellular fluid. These antibodies are capable of fighting bacterial and viral infection. They also regulate several functions like placental transport, cell surface-receptor binding and complement activation. Anti-mouse IgG (whole molecule)-peroxidase antibody can be used in ELISA (diluted 1: 200 in PBST) . It can also be used in western blotting. Goat anti-mouse IgG-peroxidase antibody reacts specifically with mouse IgA, IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG3 and IgM myeloma proteins.

Immunogen

Purified mouse IgG.

Application

Anti-mouse IgG (whole molecule)-peroxidase antibody (diluted 1: 300) can be used as a secondary antibody in immunohistochemistry. It can also be used in Ouchterlony double diffusion and immunoelectrophoresis.
Western blot analysis using HRP conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG as the secondary antibody at a dilution of 1:3000 in BSA/PBS was performed to detect IgG antibodies against outer-membrane vexicle proteins.

Physical form

Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4 containing 1% bovine serum albumin with preservative.

Preparation Note

Prepared using the periodate method described by Wilson, M.B., and Nakane, P.K., in Immunofluorescence and Related Staining Techniques, Elsevier/North Holland Biomedical Press, Amsterdam, p215 (1978).
