General description

Water suitable for HPLC is commonly used as a solvent for isocratic elution in both cation and anion chromatography. Additionally, it is used as a component to prepare standard stock solutions, and for evaporation under a nitrogen stream in a water bath to concentrate the sample before LC-MS-MS analysis.

Application

Water is used as a:
  • Solvent to prepare buffers during the cell lysis process.
  • Component of the mobile phase during the HPLC–UV–diode-array detection for the separation and detection of the analytes.
