General description

Method: Colorimetric with test strips, 0 - 4 - 10 - 20 - 50 mg/L (Zn), MQuant®

The MQuant® Zinc test strips can be used to measure zinc and its compounds, which are used in electroplating baths, for manufacturing zinc coatings, as a mordant for dyes, as a conservation agent, as an additive in glass, enamel, and ceramic products and finally, due to its antiseptic action, in cosmetic products. On the test strip, zinc ions react with dithizone to form a red complex. The zinc concentration is measured semi-quantitatively by visual comparison of the reaction zone of the test strip with the fields of a color scale. The test strips are perfect for pre-testing a sample in an economic and quick way to estimate the tin concentration and a possible dilution factor prior to using a quantitative method such as a Spectroquant® Tin test.

Design for sustainability benefits:

We continue to demonstrate our commitment to our planet and a sustainable future by exploring ways to improve existing products in our portfolio. We have recently reviewed the current line of MQuant® test strips to identify key opportunities to minimize impact without compromising on the product performance.

This product has benefited from:

  • Test strip with reduction
  • Recycled aluminum tube
  • Digital instruction leaflet
