General description

Lithium sulfate is a white crystalline solid that is soluble in water. The solubility decreases with an increase in temperature. In addition, Lithium sulfate is hygroscopic in nature. It has pyroelectric properties. It has various applications in the fields of lithium-ion batteries, supercapacitors, glass industry, ceramic production, organic synthesis, and manufacture of alloys.
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Greener Chemistry. This product has been enhanced for energy efficiency. Click here for more information.

Application

Lithium sulfate can be used:
  • As a precursor to prepare solid polymer electrolytes.
  • To fabricate lithium borate glasses for energy storage applications.
  • As an electrolyte in self-healing aqueous lithium-ion batteries.
  • As an electrolyte additive in lead acid batteries. The addition of lithium sulfate improves the life cycle and efficiency of acid batteries.
  • As an electrolyte for the production of high energy and power supercapacitors.
