General description

  • Polymer architecture: Dendron
  • End Group Functionality: Carboxyl
  • Bis-MPA: 2,2-Bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid

Application

Bis-MPA dendritic molecules are based on 2,2-bismethylolpropionicacid (bis-MPA) building blocks. The hydrolysable linkers presented in this type of polymers allow their degradation into byproducts that can be reabsorbed by the body or into excretable non-toxic small molecules. Therefore, this group of dendritic polymers is biocompatible and biodegradable, making them suitable for biomedical applications.
The corona of this product is functionalized by carboxyl groups, which can be readily used in bioconjugation. The rhodamine labeled core allows its application in bioimaging.

Herein, we present the first evaluation of cationic dendrimers based on 2,2-bis(methylol)propionic acid (bis-MPA) as nonviral vectors for transfection of short interfering RNA (siRNA) in cell cultures. The study encompassed dendrimers of generation one to four (G1⁻G4), modified to bear
