General description

Aluminum phosphate is a thermally stable white crystalline solid suitable for high-temperature applications. Additionally, it is an effective flame retardant and is resistant to acids, which enhances its utility in diverse environments. Its unique properties make it suitable for use in energy storage, catalysis, ceramics, and pharmaceuticals.

Application

Aluminum phosphate can be used:
  • As a bifunctional additive to fabricate electrode for Li-S batteries. It acts as a lithium polysulfide capturing agent to reduce and stabilize interfacial resistance during cycling.
  • As a protective coating on the electrodes of Li-ion batteries to help mitigate issues related to electrode degradation and instability, thereby improving the long-term performance and cycle life of the battery.
  • As a precursor to synthesize flame retardant composites.
