Evaluated by Western Blotting in Human brain tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected SCN2A in Human brain tissue lysate.

Tested applications

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected SCN2A in Human hippocampus membrane preparations.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected SCN2A in K562 cells (not permeabilized).

Affinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound SCN2A in SCN2A Sodium Channel with a KD of 1.2 x 10-8 in an affinity binding assay.

Sodium channel protein type 2 subunit alpha (UniProt: Q99250; also known as HBSC II, Sodium channel protein brain II subunit alpha, Sodium channel protein type II subunit alpha, Voltage-gated sodium channel subunit alpha Nav1.2, SCN2A) is encoded by the SCN2A (also known as NAC2, SCN2A1, SCN2A2) gene (Gene ID: 6326) in human. Sodium channels are integral plasma membrane proteins that conduct Na+ transport across the plasma membrane. They are classified as either voltage-gated or ligand-gated based on the nature of the triggering mechanism for channel activation. SCN2A is a multi-pass membrane glycoprotein with 13 cytoplasmic domains, 16 extracellular domains, and 24 transmembrane domains, and It mediates the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes. It forms a sodium-selective channel through which Na+ ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. Mutations in SCN2A gene are known to cause infantile epileptic encephalopathy that is characterized by infantile-onset seizures, before 12 months of age, followed by neurodevelopmental delay. This ZooMAb^® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals. Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb^® formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.

Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
