In the nucleus, by binding directly to the nuclear receptor RAR, it forms a complex for connecting retinoic acid (RA) from the binding protein to the receptor. This interaction finally helps to accelerate the transcriptional activity. It may have impact in the immature phenotype in glioma cells.
