VSIG8 (V-set and immunoglobulin domain containing 8) is present in the stratified epithelia of hair follicle, nail and oral cavity. It is a transmembrane protein and belongs to the CTX (cortical thymocyte marker in Xenopus) family of proteins. The gene is mapped to human chromosome 1q23.
