The Standard Reference Material (SRM) provides certified values that are primarily intended for validating chemical and instrumental methods used to analyze the elemental content of high-purity iron, low alloy steel, and similar ferrous alloys. These values can also be used to validate the value assignments of in-house reference materials in laboratories.
