General description

Protein G Mag Sepharose are magnetic beads designed to simplify enrichment of target proteins by immunoprecipitation applications. Based on Sepharose with Protein G as ligand. Protein G has high affinity for the Fc region of IgG antibodies.

Application

Protein G Mag Sepharose are magnetic beads designed to simplify enrichment of target Proteins by immunoprecipitation or pull-down applications. The magnetic beads are based on Sepharose with Protein G as ligand. Protein G has high affinity for the Fc region of IgG antibodies from a broad variety of species. There are two protocols available for Protein enrichment: the cross-link protocol and the classic protocol. The protocols are simple with elution conditions optimized for both electrophoresis and MS analysis. Protein G Mag Sepharose combines well-proven enrichment methods with the magnetic beads platform, which has excellent properties for small-scale sample preparation. Together with MagRack 6, a separation tool for six microcentrifuge tubes, up to six samples can be processed in parallel.

Features and Benefits

  • Visible and dense Sepharose based magnetic beads with Protein A ligand, easy to spot and collect bound target Protein
  • Non-adherent beads eliminate smearing effects and aggregate formation. Can be used without detergents
  • Simple capture of target Protein in small or large sample volumes (Low microliter to high milliliter scale)
  • Optimized capacity for enrichment/immunoprecipitation of target Proteins - only Low amounts of antibody needed
  • Flexible protocols with elution conditions optimized for both electrophoresis and MS analysis
