Tebufenozide is a non-steroidal ecdysone agonist herbicide that belongs to the class of diacylhydrazines. It interacts with the steroidal receptors in lepidopterans larvae and produces lethal molting.
Tebufenozide was allowed for use in the European Union as a plant protection agent as per the Commission Implementing Directive 2011/60/EU of 23rd May 201, repealing Directive 91/414/EEC. A maximum residue limit (MRL) of 2 mg/kg and 0.05 mg/kg is set for the presence of tebufenozide in fresh/frozen fruits and tree nuts respectively according to the Reg. (EU) 2021/1807.

Application

It is intended to be used as a certified reference material (CRM) for calibration in chromatography and other analytical techniques.
Tebufenozide certified reference material (CRM) may also find the following uses:

  • Analysis of trifloxystrobin, tebufenozide, and halofenozide by Micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography (MEKC) in tomato, celery, and apple juice samples
  • Measurement of the residue levels of tebufenozide in cabbage and soil by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
  • Determination of four diacylhydrazine insecticide residues in apple, grape, cucumber, tomato, and spinach samples by QuEChERS method using ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry
  • Development and validation of a multi-residual analytical method, based on SPE followed by LC-MS for the simultaneous estimation of 14 pesticides in surface and groundwaters
  • Multi-residue analysis of 200 pesticides and pesticide metabolites in honeybees by gas and liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry
