Gene Information

human ... NMNAT1(64802)

General description

Nuclear NMNAT isoform. Catalyzes the formation of NAD+ from nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) and ATP. It can also use the deamidated form of nicotinic acid mononucleotide (NAMN) as substrate with the same efficiency. Interacts with PARP-1/ARTD1. Protects against axonal degeneration following mechanical or toxic insults. Widely expressed.

Physical form

Solution in 50 mM sodium phosphate, pH 8.0, containing 300 mM sodium chloride, 2 mM DTT and 10% glycerol.

Other Notes

Human full-length NMNAT1 (aa 1-279) is fused at the N-terminus to a His-tag.
