Application

Calcitonin, a 32 amino acid polypeptide, is involved in the regulation of calcium and phosphorous metabolism often antagonistic to parathyroid hormone (PTH). [Des-Tyr22]-Calcitonin salmon (Des-Tyr22-sCT) is an analogue of calcitonin with decreased in vitro adenylate cyclase activation activity and inhibitory activity for prolactin release from isolated rat pituitary cells.

Salmon calcitonin has an amino acid sequences that would allow it to form an amphipathic helix from approximately residue 9 to residue 22. We have synthesized a number of analogues of this peptide hormone with deletions in the carboxyl terminus

Our team of scientists has experience in all areas of research including Life Science, Material Science, Chemical Synthesis, Chromatography, Analytical and many others.
