General description

Albumin, the most abundant plasma protein in humans, fulfills various vital physiological roles. Its functions encompass maintaining colloid osmotic pressure and binding essential substances like long-chain fatty acids, bile acids, bilirubin, haematin, calcium, and magnesium. Moreover, serum albumin serves as a reliable prognostic indicator for various medical conditions, making its detection paramount in healthcare. Lowered serum albumin levels often signal the presence of liver disease, nephritic syndrome, malnutrition, protein-losing enteropathies, and associated morbidity and mortality. Conversely, elevated serum albumin levels are linked to dehydration, indicating the versatility of albumin detection in diagnosing and monitoring health issues. Albumin detection extends beyond serum, as it is a critical parameter in the assessment of urine as well. Albuminuria, the presence of albumin in urine, is a key diagnostic marker for a range of conditions. By identifying albuminuria disease, the early signs of renal disease can be detected, particularly in diabetic patients. In the proposal for Albumin detection kits, these assays are highlighted for their fast, sensitive, and reliable measurement of albumin levels in plasma, serum, and urine. These kits provide a convenient means of assessing health, offering timely intervention, and ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and comprehensive healthcare management.

Application

The Albumin Quick Test Strips can be used for determining Albumin levels in metabolomics research

Features and Benefits

  • Rapid and Ultra-Sensitive: Achieve quick results with just 20 µL of the sample, enabling semi-quantitative measurements between 0-0.4 g/dL or 0-60 µM (undiluted) Albumin
  • Quick Results: Complete sample treatment and the assay in under 15 minutes, saving you valuable time
  • User-Friendly Design: Our convenient test strip design eliminates the requirement for a plate or cuvette reader, making the testing process simple and hassle-free

Suitability

Suitable for the detection of albumin in serum, plasma, urine, etc.

Principle

Albumin Quick Test Strips are based on the immobilization of an albumin sensitive chromagen onto a pad. Albumin will react with the chromagen and produce a colored product. The intensity of the product color is directly proportional to the albumin concentration in the sample.
