General description

The gene GSDMA (gasdermin A) is mapped to human chromosome 17q21. The protein localizes in the cytoplasm.

Application

Biochem/physiol Actions

GSDMA (gasdermin A) is associated with childhood asthma. It is present in the upper gastrointestinal tract and controls apoptosis of the gastric epithelium. GSDMA is downregulated in gastric cancer cells.
