Gentamicn-Glutamine solution is used for selection of transformed cells that contain the aacA.aphD gene, and is recommended for use in cell culture applications at 10 mL/L.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Mode of Action: The product inhibits protein synthesis by binding to L6 protein of the 50S ribosomal subunit. Glutamine functions as an essential as an energy source for most mammalian cells in culture because of its amino acid carbon skeletons.

Antimicrobial spectrum: This product acts against both gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, and mycoplasma.

Components

This solution is formulated to contain 200 mM L-glutamine and 5 mg/mL gentamicin in .9% sodium chloride
