Canine Golden Retriever tumour
Cell Line Description
Derived from tumour of thigh (unknown histology) of 8 year old Golden Retriever which had a previous history of mammary adenocarcinoma. Susceptible to canine corona-, canine Ad type I and II, canine herpes, canine parainfluenza and canine parvo- viruses.
Application
Virus studies: Canine corona-, Ad I and II, parainfluenza, herpes and parvo- viruses
Culture Medium
L15 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculture Routine
Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 2-5x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin; 0.02% EDTA; 37°C. CO2 is detrimental; free gas exchange with atmospheric air necessary.
