Gene Information

human ... USP39(10713)

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the N terminal region of human USP39

Biochem/physiol Actions

USP39 is a ubiquitin specific peptidase, a neuronal slicing factor expressed in the brain. It maintains embryonic pituitary homeostasis in Zebrafish by regulating expansion of all embryonic pituitary cell lineages. USP39 controls the levels of aurora B mRNA and is important to maintain the integrity of mitotic spindle checkpoint.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: MSGRSKRESRGSTRGKRESESRGSSGRVKRERDREREPEAASSRGSPVRV

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.

Loss of retinoblastoma (Rb) tumor suppressor function is associated with human malignancies. Molecular and genetic mechanisms responsible for tumorigenic Rb downregulation are not fully defined. Through a forward genetic screen and positional cloning, we identified and characterized a zebrafish ubiquitin

Previously, we have shown that the translocation of Grainyhead-like 3 (GRHL3) transcription factor from the nucleus to the cytoplasm triggers the switch from canonical Wnt signaling for epidermal differentiation to non-canonical Wnt signaling for epithelial morphogenesis. Accurate chromosome segregation relies on the mitotic spindle checkpoint. This checkpoint acts to restrict ubiquitin ligase activity of the Anaphase-promoting complex (APC/C) in mitosis until all chromosomes are bipolarly attached to the mitotic spindle. We performed a functional RNAi-based screen
