General description

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) belongs to the immunoglobulin family and is a widely expressed serum antibody. Each immunoglobulin has two heavy chains and two light chains connected by a disulfide bond. It is a glycoprotein. IgG is a major class of immunoglobulin. Mice consists of five immunoglobulin classes- IgM, IgG, IgA, IgD and IgE. Mouse IgG is further divided into five classes- IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b and IgG3. IgG helps in opsonization, complement fixation and antibody dependent cell mediated cytotoxicity.

Specificity

Goat anti-mouse IgG(Fc specific)-peroxidase antibody is specific for mouse IgG and mouse IgG, Fc fragment. The conjugate shows no reactivity with mouse Fab fragment, human IgG, IgA, IgM, κ and λ light chain, bovine IgG and IgM, or horse IgG.

Application

Anti-Mouse IgG (Fc specific)-Peroxidase antibody produced in goat has been used in:
  • immunohistochemistry
  • enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
  • immunoblot
  • dot-blot analysis

Specificity of a new antibody for PND in blood from immunized mice was tested by Elisa using biotynlated PND and streptavidin coated plates. HRP conjugated goat anti-mouse IgG (Fc specific) was used as secondary.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is a glycoprotein antibody that regulates immune responses such as phagocytosis and is also involved in the development of autoimmune diseases. Mouse IgGs have four distinct isotypes, namely, IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, and IgG3. IgG1 regulates complement fixation in mice.
Immunoglobulin G (IgG) participates in hypersensitivity type II and type III reactions. IgG helps in opsonization and antibody dependent cell mediated cytotoxicity.

Other Notes

Antibody adsorbed with bovine, equine and human serum proteins.

Physical form
