General description

Peroxide Block is used to block the endogenous peroxide enzymes that naturally occur in tissue sections. This is a necessary step when performing immunohistochemistry and utilizing a horseradish peroxidase enzyme (HRP) label. If this step is eliminated from the protocol, endogenous peroxide enzymes may cause the chromogen to precipitate, thereby causing background staining to occur. Use of this reagent virtually eliminates this possibility.
