General description

Each unit of SRM 3133 contains five sealed borosilicate glass ampoules, each containing 10 mL of an acidified aqueous solution. This solution is gravimetrically prepared to contain a known mass fraction of mercury and comprises nitric acid at an approximate mass fraction of 10%.

SRM 3133_cert

SRM 3133_SDS

Application

The SRM is intended for use as a primary calibration standard for the determination of mercury quantitatively.

Features and Benefits

  • The certified value of the SRM was determined by calculating the mass fraction values of mercury, which is obtained through two methods:
  1. Gravimetric preparation
  2. Isotope-dilution cold-vapor inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ID-ICP-MS).
  • The certified value is metrologically traceable to the SI unit of mass fraction, expressed as micrograms per gram.
  • The NIST certificate is provided with expiration certificate, storage, handling, use, and maintenance instructions.

Other Notes

Certified for the analytes listed below.
