General description

SimPlate® Campylobacter CI is designed for the detection and quantification of Campylobacter coli and Campylobacter jejuni. SimPlate® Binary Detection Technology combines proprietary media and a patented plating device to provide fast and accurate quantitative results for key groups of indicator organisms. Defined substrates incorporated into the media are utilized to detect multiple enzymes and redox reactions associated with the target organisms, which results in chromogenic or fluorescent changes to the media, and provides easy-to-read results. Because SimPlate® relies on these key reactions rather than the formation of a colony, results are available days faster than conventional culture methods.

Application

SimPlate® Campylobacter CI is used in the detection and quantification of Campylobacter coli and Campylobacter jejuni in poultry rinses and meat samples. SimPlate® tests have been validated by international standards (AOAC/MicroVal)

Features and Benefits

  • Proprietary chromogenic media and patented plating device with isolation wells combine to produce easily counted results in just 48 hours.
  • While the traditional agar plate reference method requires the use of 4 Campy CEFEX agar plates to analyze 1 mL sample, SimPlate Campylobacter has been validated to provide equivalent results with just a single plate. Combined with the reduction of necessary sample dilutions, made possible by the broad counting range of the plate (1-738), SimPlate reduces number of tests required for each sample, helping to reduce overall testing costs.
