General description

Verbascose, a pentasaccharide that contains four units of galactose and one unit of sucrose, occurs mostly in leguminous plants. In plants it is synthesized by an enzyme named, multifunctional stachyose synthase using raffinose as well as stachyose as a galactosyl acceptor.

Application

Natural, non-digestable sugar
