General description

Diethofencarb is a systemic, phenyl-carbamate fungicide, used for the control of gray mold on fruits and vegetables. Its mode of action involves the inhibition of phospholipids and fatty acid biosynthesis in pathogens.

Application

Diethofencarb may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in peel and pulp of apples using dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction, followed by high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detection (HPLC-DAD).

Resistance is a practical problem correlated with single amino acid changes in beta-tubulin and is often linked to greater sensitivity to phenylcarbamates. This negative cross-resistance creates opportunities
