General description

Propaquizafop is an aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicide primarily used for post emergence control of weeds in agricultural products. Its mode of action involves inhibition of the plastid acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase), a key enzyme in fatty acid biosynthesis.

Application

Propaquizafop may be used as a reference standard for the determination of the pesticide:
  • In honeybee samples by liquid and gas chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry with multiple-reaction monitoring.
  • In groundwater and surface water samples by direct injection-liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry with multiple-reaction monitoring.
