General description
Water, PCR Grade is specially purified, double-distilled, deionized, and autoclaved. The production process ensures that even according to Roche ′s strict Quality Control procedures the water does not contain detectable amounts of nucleic acid. It is routinely tested in PCR with conventional thermal cyclers and with LightCycler® Instruments.
Application
This product is specially tested and qualified for use in all PCR or RT-PCR. It can be used in conjunction with all end-point or real-time PCR assays or whenever highest quality water is needed. All of the LightCycler® kits and some of the amplification products — available from Roche Applied Science — contain this Water, PCR Grade.
Quality
Function test: Each lot of Water, PCR Grade is tested in PCR (amplification of a 0.5 kb target from 0.01 ng λDNA). When the PCR product is analyzed by gel electrophoresis, a clear, defined band must be seen on the gel.
Absence of nucleases: The water is tested with various nucleic acids that could serve as nuclease substrates. No endonucleases, ribonucleases or nicking activity are detected according to the current Quality procedures.
