Gene Information

human ... AXIN2(8313)

General description

Axin-2, or Axis inhibition protein 2, is an inhibitor of the Wnt signaling pathway that down-regulates beta-catenin and APC through phosphorylation. Axin-2 abnormalities are linked to defective mismatch repair and have been found to be involved in colorectal cancer (CRC) and oligodontia-colorectal cancer syndrome (ODCRCS). Axin-2 can be found in brain and lymphoblast tissues.

Specificity

This monoclonal antibody recognizes both endogeneous and overexpressed Axin2 and does not cross-react with Axin1

Immunogen

Linear peptide corresponding to Human Axin 2.

Application

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: 20 μg/mL of this antibody from a representative lot detected Axin2 in HeLa, HEK293 and NIH-3T3 cells.
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot of this antibody detected Axin2 in SW 480 cell lines

Aberrant activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway plays a major role in the development of colorectal carcinoma (CRC). Axin 2 is a key protein of this pathway and is upregulated in CRC. Here, we investigated RNA- and protein expression of axin
