General description

Phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate-dependent Rac exchanger 1protein (P-Rex1) is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor, which is predominantly expressed in the brain and leucocytes. It exchanges GDP for GTP in Rac 1, resulting in activation of Rac and its downstream signaling molecules that mediate such cellular processes as axon migration and differentiation.

Immunogen

Linear peptide corresponding to human P-Rex 1.

Application

Research Category
Apoptosis & Cancer
Research Sub Category

This Anti-P-Rex1, clone 6F12 is validated for use in IP, WB, IH for the detection of P-Rex1.
Western Blot Analysis: A representative lot was used by an independent laboratory to detect P-Rex 1 in PC3 cell lysate (Donald, S.,et al., 2010.), bone-marrow-derived neutrophils from mice (Qin, J., et al., 2009.), and mouse brain sections. (Welch, H, et al., 2005.)

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blot in THP-1 cell lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected P-Rex 1 in 10 µg of THP-1 cell lysate.

Rac GTPases regulate cytoskeletal structure, gene expression, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. Rac2-deficient neutrophils cannot chemotax, produce ROS, or degranulate upon G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) activation. Deficiency in PI3Kgamma, an upstream regulator of Rac, causes a similar phenotype. P-Rex1
