General description

PECAM-1 is a type I integral membrane glycoprotein, and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily of cell surface receptors. PECAM-1 is constitutively expressed on the surface of endothelial cells where it is concentrated at cell junctions. PECAM-1 is also expressed at low levels on all leukocytes and platelets. Homotypic interaction of CD31 is important in cell-cell interaction, cell-matrix interaction and signal transduction.

Specificity

CBL1337 recognizes mouse PECAM-1, a 130-140 kDa type 1 integral membrane glycoprotein. This antibody has been shown to inhibit the aggregation of L cells transfected with a variant form of PECAM-1 (DeLisser, 1993).

Immunogen

Mouse leukocyte cell line 32D

Application

Flow Cytometry: = 1 μg per 10e6 cells in 100 μL volume

Immunohistochemistry: acteone fixed frozen tissue sections.

Optimal working dilutions must be determined by the end user.
