General description

T-cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing protein 1 (TIMD-1, TIM-1, TIM, TIM1, TIMD1), also known as Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 1 (HAVcr-1) and Kidney injury molecule 1(KIM-1, KIM1), may play an important role in T-helper cell development and the regulation of asthma and allergic diseases. In the case of human hepatitis A virus (HHAV) infection, TIM-1 functions as a cell-surface receptor for the virus, through which the hepatitis A virus can gain entry into a cell. Additional evidence implies that it may play a role in kidney injury and repair. TIM-1 is widely expressed, with highest levels in kidney and testis. It is also expressed by activated CD4+ T-cells during the development of helper T-cells responses. Furthermore, TIM-1 is expressed on T helper 2 (Th2) cells of the immune system, and following the binding of its natural ligand TIM-4, stimulates T cell expansion and cytokine production in response to viral challenge.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes the N-terminus of TIM-1.

Immunogen

Epitope: N-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of human TIM-1.

Application

Anti-TIM-1 Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets T-cell immunoglobulin & mucin domain-containing protein 1 & has been tested in western blotting, IHC & Immunofluorescence.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 10 µg/mL from a representative lot detected TIM-1 in human uterus tissue.

Immunofluorescence Analysis: 20 µg/mL from a representative lot detected TIM-1 in human uterus tissue.
