General description

NG2 is a high molecular weight, integral membrane chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan. It is found on the surfaces of an unusual class of glial cells within the developing and mature central nervous system that have the properties of oligodendrocyte precursor cells (i.e., O-2A progenitor cells). NG2 is also found on the surfaces of chondroblasts, proliferating capillary endothelial cells, some human melanoma cell lines, and on leukemic blasts in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The NG2 proteoglycan is likely to play a role in regulation of cell motility, axon outgrowth and the cellular responses to platelet-derived growth factor.

Application

Anti-NG2 Chondroitin Sulfate Proteoglycan, Biotin Conjugate Antibody is an antibody against NG2 Chondroitin Sulfate Proteoglycan for use in IHC, ICC.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected NG2 in paraffin embedded rat cortex tissue.

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected NG2 in rat oligodendrocyte precursor cells. Performed without Triton.

Quality

Evaluated by Immunohistochemistry in cryosections of rat cortex tissue.

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution of this antibody detected NG2 in cryosections of rat cortex tissue.

Target description

The unconjugated parent antibody (Cat. No. AB5320) has an observed molecular weight at ~270-300 kDa
