Gene Information

human ... IRAK1(3654)

General description

IRAK1, also known as Interleukin-1 receptor associated kinase 1, belongs to the tyrosine kinase related (TKL) family and is involved with mRNA stabilization and activation of NF-kappa B. IRAK1 is located in all tissue as 2 isoforms, with 1 binding quickly and then degrading while isoform 2 is activated by kinase, resulting in a slower more sustained response to cytokines. Phosphorylation of IRAK1 leads to recruitment of the adapter protein PELI1. IRAK1 utilizes 2 pathways, the first one allows for mediation of IL-1 inflammatory responses when TRAF6 is bound, which activates NF-kappa B, thereby inhibiting I kappa B alpha. A second pathway does not involve TRAF6 and results in the stabilization of mRNA.

Specificity

This antibody recognizes the C-terminal region of IRAK1.

Immunogen

Epitope: C-terminus
KLH-conjugated synthetic linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of IRAK1.

Application

Research Category
Inflammation & Immunology
Research Sub Category
Immunological Signaling
This Anti-IRAK1 Antibody, C-terminus is validated for use in WB for the detection of IRAK1.

Quality

Evaluated by western blot in jurkat lysate.

Western Blot Analysis: A 1:50-1:500 dilution of this antibody detected IRAK1 on jurkat lysate.

Target description

~77 kDa

Physical form

Format: Purified
Protein G Purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing PBS and 0.09% sodium azide.

Storage and Stability

Stable for 6 months at 2-8ºC from date of receipt. For long term storage, store at -20ºC.
Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.
