General description

A stable-labeled internal standard for quantification of psilocin levels in urine, serum, or plasma by LC/MS or GC/MS for urine drug testing, clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, or isotope dilution methods. Psilocin is a potent hallucinogen present in most psychedelic mushrooms. Known by street names such as Shrooms, Boomers, or Musk, psilocin has effects similar to LSD and DMT.

Application

  • Psilocin-D₁₀ for toxicological analysis: A research publication described the development and application of a method for analyzing biomarkers in human urine, including the use of Psilocin-D₁₀, to confirm ingestions of toxic mushrooms or Ricinus communis. This study highlights the role of Psilocin-D₁₀ in advanced toxicological screening using hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (Bambauer et al., 2020).
