General description

Sold under the trade names Neurontin®, Nupentin, or Gabarone, gabapentin is an anticonvulsant drug used primarily for treatment of seizures, fibromyalgia, and neuropathic pain. This internal standard is suitable for mass spectrometry-based testing or isotope dilution methods of gabapentin in forensic analysis, clinical toxicology, pain prescription monitoring, or urine drug testing.

Application

Pharmacokinetic studies with rapid LC-MS/MS methods: Gabapentin-13C3 is used for accurate measurement in therapeutic monitoring and pharmacokinetic studies, promoting better patient management in clinical pharmacology (Phillips et al., 2021).

Comprehensive drug class analysis in blood samples: Techniques for the determination of multiple drug classes in whole blood via LC-MS/MS, including gabapentin, illustrate the critical role of stable isotope-labeled standards like Gabapentin-13C3 in enhancing analytical precision and reliability in toxicological and pharmacological research (J rgenrud et al., 2021).
