General description

This certified solution standard is suitable for N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT) testing methods by GC/MS or LC/MS in clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, or forensic analysis applications. DMT is a naturally occurring hallucinogenic tryptamine derived from the amino acid tryptophan. Abuse of DMT reportedly can cause auditory and visual hallucinations, and mild stimulant effects such as increased heart rate and blood pressure.

Application

  • Psychedelics in Chronic Pain Management: A scoping review explores the therapeutic potential of psychedelics, including DMT, in managing chronic pain, highlighting their emerging role in medical research and treatment strategies. This research underscores DMT′s potential to modulate serotonergic systems, offering insights into its mechanisms and therapeutic applications in psychopharmacology (Robinson et al., 2024).

  • Risk Assessment of Psychedelic Drugs: Research discusses the importance of establishing risk assessments and occupational exposure limits for psychedelic substances like DMT, focusing on safety in their therapeutic use. The study provides a framework for the responsible integration of these compounds into clinical practice (Videira et al., 2024).
