General description

Barium chloride (BaCl2) is a hygroscopic water soluble ionic compound that can be found naturally as witherite. It can be also prepared from barium hydroxide or barium carbonate.

Application

BaCl2 can be industrially used in the synthesis of pigment and the manufacturing of pharmaceuticals. It can also be used in laboratory application in the testing of sulfate ions.
