human ... NCOA6(23054)

Descrizione generale

The protein encoded by this gene is a transcriptional coactivator that can interact with nuclear hormone receptors to enhance their transcriptional activator functions. The encoded protein has been shown to be involved in the hormone-dependent coactivation of several receptors, including prostanoid, retinoid, vitamin D3, thyroid hormone, and steroid receptors. The encoded protein may also act as a general coactivator since it has been shown to interact with some basal transcription factors, histone acetyltransferases, and methyltransferases. (provided by RefSeq)

Immunogeno

NCOA6 (NP_054790, 1954 a.a. ~ 2063 a.a) partial recombinant protein with GST tag. MW of the GST tag alone is 26 KDa.

Azioni biochim/fisiol

NCOA6 (Nuclear receptor coactivator 6) interacts with nuclear receptors in ligand-dependent or ligand-enhanced dependent manner to regulate nuclear receptor-mediated mammalian gene expression. The activation domain helps to increase the transcriptional activity of several nuclear receptors. It forms a dimer by binding to the liganded receptors, which lead to a structural change in NRC activation. It has also been reported that NCOA6 highly influences the binding of CREB-binding protein (CBP) during transcriptional activity of nuclear hormone receptors.
