Descrizione generale

Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are the members of the TGF-β superfamily and are identified as the critical factors for formation of bone and cartilage. Apart from this BMPs have immune regulatory functions. The cellular effects of BMPs are mediated by a heteromeric complex composed of type I and type II receptors. Among the BMPs, BMP-2 has bone and cartilage inducing abilities. The other important functions of BMP-2 are in heart formation. BMP-2 signaling also involves active cross talk with major pathways such as Smad, MAPK, PI3K and NF-κ B.. Monoclonal Anti-BMP-2 recognizes recombinant BMP-2. It also detects BMP-4 (25% cross reactivity).

Specificità

The antibody recognizes recombinant human BMP-2. It shows approximately 25% cross-reactivity with recombinant human BMP-4.

Immunogeno

recombinant human BMP-2.

Applicazioni

Applications in which this antibody has been used successfully, and the associated peer-reviewed papers, are given below.
Immunohistochemistry (1 paper)
Monoclonal Anti-BMP-2 antibody may be used in immunoblotting at a working antibody concentration of 1-2 μg/ml.

Stato fisico

Lyophilizd from a 0.2 μm filtered solution in PBS, pH 7.4, with 5% trehalose.

Nota sulla preparazione

Purified using protein G.
