Drug Metabolism (DM) Pharmacokinetic (PK) studies provide crucial insight into the way drug candidates behave in the body. These studies are a critical step in drug development.

QIAcard^™ FTA^™ DMPK Cards for Drug Metabolism Pharmacokinetics enable microvolume sampling with only 10 to 20 µl per sample and are designed for use with blood samples. The cards can also be used with colorless samples such as plasma, cerebrospinal fluid and urine.

QIAcard^™ FTA^™ DMPK-A contains impregnated chemicals enabling protein denaturation to inactivate endogenous enzymes. Cell lysis releases endogenous cellular materials onto card. Stabilization of DNA allows resampling of blood spot for pharmacogenomics. Impregnated chemicals may interfere with mass spectrometry detection e.g. ion suppression.

• Includes a pink dye that turns white when a colorless sample is applied.
• One sample area for application of up to 40 μl sample volume per card.
• Simply apply your sample to the FTA^™ Card. Cell membranes and organelles are lysed and the released nucleic acids are entrapped in the fibers of the matrix. The nucleic acids remain immobilized and are preserved for transport, immediate processing or long-term room temperature storage.
• Since captured nucleic acids are preserved, FTA^™ Cards facilitate sample collection in remote locations and simplify sample transport.
• Ship your samples back to the laboratory without expensive special handling or dry ice and process at your convenience.
• FTA^™ Cards can be used with virtually any sample type: Blood, Cultured cells, Buccal cells, Plasmids, and Solid tissue.
• Captured nucleic acids are ready for purification when you are. The FTA^™ Elute technology enables convenient water-based elution of nucleic acids for downstream experiments.
