General description

Sodium perborate is widely employed as an oxidizing agent.

Application

Sodium perborate tetrahydrate may be employed for the following studies:
  • Transformation of iodoarenes to (diacetoxyiodo)arenes.
  • Oxidation of Π-deficient azines to afford N-oxides.
  • Oxidation of sulphur containing heterocyclic compounds to afford S,S-dioxides.
  • Microwave-assisted oxidative hydration of various aromatic and aliphatic nitriles.
  • Various oxidation reactions of anilines and sulphides.
  • As a catalyst for the transformation of 2′-hydroxychalcones to flavanones.
