General description

Pentadecanoic acid is a saturated fatty acid, commonly present in ox bile. It is present as a phytochemical component of Indigofera suffruticosa leaves and is known to exhibit antimicrobial and antioxidant properties.

Application

Pentadecanoic acid has been used as an internal standard in the separation of chloroplast lipids like digalactosyldiacylglycerol, sulfoquinovosyldiacylglycerol and monogalactosyldiacylglycerol extracted from cyanobacterial cells and spotted on membranes using thin layer chromatography technique (TLC).
