General description

The previously assigned protein identifier P13592 has been merged into P13591. Full details can be found on the UniProt database.

Specificity

Recognizes N-CAM expressed on developing and adult neuroectrodermal tissues in Humans. Neuroectodermal tumors also stain including Elioma, ependymoma, neuroblastoma, medulloblastoma, retinoblastoma and teratoma. Oat cell carcinoma and Wilms tumor are also highly reactive. Will react on Natural Killer cells. Recognizes 120, 140 and 180 kDa NCAM isoforms.

Immunogen

Epitope: extracellular
Human Retinoblastoma tumor

Application

Anti-NCAM Antibody, extracellular, clone ERIC-1, Azide free is an antibody against NCAM for use in ELISA, WB, IH.
Immunohistology on frozen tissue sections acetone fixation only.

Immunoblotting: Recognizes 120, 140, and 180 kDa NCAM isoforms.

ELISA: 80 ng/mL

Does not work in flow cytometry.

Trophoblast differentiation during early placental development is critical for successful pregnancy and aberrant differentiation causes preeclampsia and early pregnancy loss. During the first trimester, cytotrophoblasts are exposed to low oxygen tension (equivalent to~2%-3% O2) and differentiation proceeds along an extravillous
