General description

Method: Reflectometric with test strips 5 - 125 mg/L (Ca), Reflectoquant®

The Reflectoquant® Calcium test is suitable for rapid determination of calcium in aqueous media. Calcium is an important parameter for boiling and cooling water, as deposits in production equipment can impair the function and performance of the equipment. Calcium also needs to be analyzed in drinking water and especially in beer.
Calcium ions react with phthalein purple to form a violet dye that is determined reflectometrically on the RQflex®. An economic alternative to pre-test and estimate the calcium concentration prior to using the quantitative Reflectoquant(R) method is the semi-quantitative MQuant® test for calcium. Even more quantitative determination methods can be found with our Spectroquant® spectrophotometric tests.
