Sorting nexins (SNXs) are regulators of endosomal sorting. For the SNX-BAR subgroup, a Bin/Amphiphysin/Rvs (BAR) domain is vital for formation/stabilization of tubular subdomains that mediate cargo recycling. Here, by analysing the in vitro membrane remodelling properties of all 12 human

Shallow hydrophobic insertions and crescent-shaped BAR scaffolds promote membrane curvature. Here, we investigate membrane fission by shallow hydrophobic insertions quantitatively and mechanistically. Understanding protein aggregation is essential to unveil molecular mechanisms associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's and spongiform encephalopathy, particularly to determine the role of interaction with cell membranes. In this study, we employ Langmuir monolayers as cell membrane
