General description
Demeton-S-methyl sulfone is an insecticide that belongs to the class of organophosphorus compounds, the major group of pest controllers used in agricultural production.
As per Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009, demeton-S-methyl-sulfon is not approved for use in European Union. Maximum residue levels (MRLs) have been set according to Regulation (EU) No 889/2012 for oxydemeton-methyl as a sum of oxydemeton-methyl and Demeton-S-methylsulfone expressed as oxydemeton-methyl for various products of plant and animal origin from 0.01 to 0.05 mg/kg.
Application
- Validation of a method to monitor 11 organophosphorus residues in samples of banana, papaya, and bell pepper using QuEChERS extraction and high performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS)(1)
- Simultaneous determination of four pesticides, aldicarb, demeton-S-methyl, fenamiphos, and methiocarb and their metabolites in grape juices using solid-phase extraction and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS)
- Quantification and confirmation of 16 priority pesticides in baby foods and their comparison using HPLC-MS/MS and UPLC-MS/MS coupled with tandem quadrupole mass spectrometry
- Development of reversed phase liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry method for the determination of 52 pesticides in tobacco
- Validation of two variations of the QuEChERS method for the determination of 120 pesticides and metabolites in cereal-based infant foods by LC-MS/MS with electrospray interface (ESI)
