Biochem/physiol Actions

Kinase insert domain receptor (KDR, a type III receptor tyrosine kinase, VEGFR-2) is a VEGF receptor and is encoded by KDR gene in humans. It plays a crutial role in controlling endothelial trafficking activity and is involved in phosphotyrosine phosphatase 1b (PTP1b). PTP1b acts as a key regulator of endothelial VEGFR2 signaling and plays a critical role in regulation of the extent of vascular tree formation. VEGFR2 may be associated with gout and hyperuricaemia risks in Malays.

Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide.

Gout and hyperuricaemia attributed to genetic and lifestyle factors have been associated with several chronic diseases. This study aimed to determine the association and interaction effects between vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2) gene polymorphisms (rs1870377 and rs2071559) and dietary

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a complex neurodegenerative disease treated by anti-VEGF intravitreal injections. As inflammation is potentially involved in retinal degeneration, the pro-inflammatory kallikrein-kinin system is a possible alternative pharmacological target. Here, we investigated the effects of anti-VEGF and

It is increasingly appreciated that coordinated regulation of angiogenesis and osteogenesis is needed for bone formation. How this regulation is achieved during peri-implant bone healing, such as osseointegration, is largely unclear. This study examined the relationship between angiogenesis and osteogenesis
