General description

Note: 1 KU = 1000 units.
Recombinant, Aspergillus niger glucose oxidase. Catalyzes the oxidation of β-D-glucose to D-glucono-ω-lactone and hydrogen peroxide. Also catalyzes the conversion of D-glucono-ω-lactone to gluconic acid. Each molecule of enzyme contains 2 molecules of FAD, which are essential for enzyme activity. Optimal pH = 6.5 with >95% maximal activity at pH 6.0-7.0. Useful for enzymatic assay of glucose. May also be conjugated to antibodies or antigens for use in ELISA procedures.
