General description

2-oleoyl glycerol (2-OG) is synthesized from trioleoylglycerol from the reaction catalyzed from pancreatic lipase (PL).

Application

2-oleoyl glycerol (2-OG) is suitable for use in a lipidomic study.

Biochem/physiol Actions

2-oleoyl glycerol (2-OG) acts as an agonist for G protein-coupled receptor 119 (GPR119) in vitro and stimulates glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) secretion in vivo.
