General description
CellCrown 96 is a unique and novel cell culture insert for standard 96 well plates. This is the first insert in the market, which allows easy attachment of thicker samples, up to 2 mm in the insert. Also attachment of rigid samples is possible between the holding cup and insert part.
Holding cup can be used alone and it prevents attachment of the sample to the bottom of the well. Insert part can be placed two ways in deeper and higher position. When two holes on the edge of cup and cusps in the inner part are matching the insert is suitable for thin samples. When they are not in the same position, combination is suitable for samples of 2 mm in thickness. Please note that fit of cup and inner part is slightly looser in this position and insert need to be handled with care.
After installation of the samples cups are cut off from their frame and the insert is ready to be used in well plate. It is also possible to use shorter pieces than row of 8 inserts. The round portions between inserts allow clear markings for identification of the samples. During cell culturing it is important to follow the sufficient level of cell culture media in wells. For CellCrown 96 the recommended amount of media in well is 170 - 200 μl, depending on size of the sample.
CellCrown 96 inserts are transparent in color, dark version was used for photographing for clearer images.

CellCrown is a disposable insert, which immobilizes a sample in its place on a 6, 12, 24, 48, and 96-well plate. Fibers, foils, membranes, textiles, tissue and block like samples can be fixed with CellCrown in a firm, adjusted position in the well. The sample can be left in the well during the change of media by means of a pipette between the wall of the well and the CellCrown. The lid of the well plate can be closed while CellCrown is used. The insert can be removed from the well plate and unloaded after cell culturing without damaging the sample. CellCrown is made of medical grade polycarbonate and the product range includes sterile products ready to use as well as non-sterile products to be sterilized by the user. Sterilization can be by gamma or e-beam radiation, autoclaving, ethylene oxide gas and plasma sterilization.
